Banc de Sang i Teixits (BST) is a public agency of the Catalan Department of Health whose mission is to guarantee the supply and proper use of human blood, tissues and hematopoietic progenitors in Catalonia.

BST has an international range of action, on the cutting edge in the fields of human tissues and blood, advanced therapies and biological diagnostics, comprising in its organisation a Multi-tissue Bank, Cord Blood Bank, Blood Establishment and Breast Milk Bank.

BST will involve professionals from different areas of knowledge, who will guarantee the correct management and coordination of the project and contribute for the development of technical contents.

BST’s staff expertise is internationally recognized and are involved in several European initiatives and organisations, such: CoE, EATB, JACIE, Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT), Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX), Twinning Projects of EC, and previous EU projects namely Euro-GTP, and European Quality System for Tissue Banking (EQSTB).
